About a week and a half ago Oliver (had since Feb, about 8 in) was acting weird (staying in one corner, not eating- usually BEGGING for food all day!) I right away realized it was the start of HITH (small spot around left nostril) and began aggressive water changes, canister cleaning, and treatment with AFI general cure (he had the same thing shortly after I brought him home in March and cured it within a week, thanks to the advice from here). I realized it was my fault due to a long weekend where his water change was delayed about 2 days longer than the usual 75% weekly. That will teach me. So, water changes, meds, he was getting back to normal after a few days. But now the past 2-3 days he's been even worse than before, the spot on his nose hasn't really gotten any bigger, it had actually started improving, and I've continued with water changes every other day. I'm not sure what else do at this point, he hasn't eaten or really moved from one area of the tank in 2 days. Water chemistry is all great nitrite 0ppm, nitrate 0 ppm, ammonia 0ppm. I'm going to try to attach pictures now. 65 gallon tank (i know small for a full grown, was told it was 80 when i bought it) fluval 305 and hob filter.

How much did you clean the filter? What test kits are you using? You don't often get a nitrate reading of zero. If your water is in very good condition, then there is no reason why they shouldn't clear up.

HITH takes a long time to heal so dont worry that it hasnt started to heal yet

What seems a bit odd to me is that you have a reading for nitrate of zero. although if you tested after doing many large water changes it is possible. Are you sure you have followed the instructions properly

Stop doing the water changes for 3 ro 4 days and retest to see if the nitrates have gone up. If your oscar doesnt eat leave a pellet (only one) in the tank each day(this will end up as nitrates). Try some different foods to tempt your oscar as he may have gone of pellets if that is all you have been feeding him. Try some worms or maggots or even defrosted frozen prawns to tempt him into eating
I can't get no sleep

Our fish don't grow too big, our tank becomes too small!
