i noticed white specs on my two oscars. I went to the pet shop and bought a white spot eliminator, a 3 day treatment. I started the treatment yesturday, today being day two. I haven't seen any improvment at all! My question is: How long does it take to cure the disease?. and what i can do to help them along?

If it is the cure is simple. Raise your water temperature to 30c. That will do it

You can add meds. At the temperatures we use for tropical fish white spot has a life cycle of 6 days. Usually the meds require treating one day 1,2,3 and 6. Meds will stain the silicone holding your tank together a light blue tinge. Also remove any carbon in the filter as this will negate the meds (carbon isnt needed anyway so dont use it. Put bio material in instead)

I do not have any carbon in my filter ....

Thats not white spot. White spot are pin prick size spots. Its difficult to tell but it looks like you might have HITH. Any chance of a clearer pic

HITH is caused by poor water quality. Can you test your water for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate and post the actual results please

my water is fine...ammonia o, nitrite 0, nitrate 10....

It really is difficult to tell as the pics are not focused.

What are you testing with, the strip testers are not accurate are start giving misleading results after a while, the bottle testers that you have to shake are the best

yes I have the bottle testers ..... my water is good..i have done the test 2X today
