i just recently put my oscar a small hospital tank to treat a very mild case of finrot, hes was only in there a for a while when late last night i heard a "slap" and the oscar jumped put of the tank and landed on the hard wooden floor, he probably fell 4 to 5 foot off the kitchen bench, he hasnt been the same since, he just floats on hes side now high on top of the water flapping around, he seemed like he was getting better for a while there swimming normally, but now it looks like its getting worse now, i feel equally sorry for a tank buddy who is constantly nudging him , its really a sad sight seeing it..not sure what to to...

Have you tried to steady it in the right position by hand. dose it stay right way up. Add stress coat if you have any turn light down or out. not really much more you can do but wait. I have had the same happen to me, mine was very battered and a complete state but it survived. maybe keep the other fish away if you can by partition.

my oscar also jumped out of the tank, went flying around on the tile ended up under a kitchen rack, and she banged herself up good! thank god it happened when someone was awake because it was late at night. She was quickly put back in the water. She has a small bump on the bottom of her mouth that was caused by this and her scales were all scratched up. She too was real slow to move around and didn't eat for a few days. She probably was just scared when it happened but she is now fine and healthy and just had eggs! So hopefully your fish will get through this, luckily you were there and could quickly get it back in the tank.

both of you are still lucky. in my case, when i wake early
in the morning, i found my oscar on the floor, already dead,
but still soft. i had just clean the filter that night and
forgot to slide in the lid cover.

lol i had one of my o's jump out of the tank at feeding time and i missed the catch lol. smack on the hardwood floor and bounced around under my kitchen table for a minute before i could catch him. he got battered and bruised but a few days later you couldnt tell it happened to him. they heal up very quickly. oscars are quite robust. glad yours made it okay
