hi there, i have 6 oscars 2 of which ive had since they were wee babies, but recently 2 of my wee oscars have big massive bulging eyes and there skin (scales) seems to be falling off. 1 of the oscars has gone to the big fish tank in the sky. can any1 let me know whats wrong with them..

sounds like pop eye. what are your water conditions?

first, want to know how big is your tank? 2nd, capacity of filtration?
how long have you keeping them? and what are their sizes now?
6 oscars??? you must have a big tank.

my fish tank is 5 ft long, water conditions are good, and can pop eyes be treated???

Can you please post the actual water readings? Yes, Popeye is perfectly treatable but only if you have good water conditions

Your fish have pop eye. The most common cause is poor water quality and as you had 6 oscars in a 5ft tank this seems to me to be the cause. You can treat popeye with any antibacterial. However this will only work if you have good water. Test your water for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate and post the actual results. Saying the water is good is of no use to us. We also need tank size and what filtration you have, how often you do a water change and how much

In the meantime do a 50% water change. Post a picture please so we can be sure.
