i have 2 oscars both about 6 inches and i've had one for 2 years and the other for just under 2 years. both have had ick before and i've treated it and it's cleared up. they are being treated for it right now, but my older one(only by a couple months)rosco is laying on the bottom of the tank he's ben doing it for 3 days and we've cleaned the tank and filter system , but nothing seems to be working. my other oscar pedro keeps nudging him and trying to get him up but he just lays there not eating and only swimming if i put my hand or the net in the water.
his fins seem to be breaking and he is gasping for air

i'm worried about him!

i haven't yet checked the water, but i don't understand why it would be affecting one and not the other. can anyone help me, i love these fish and would hate to lose one or either of them. thanks

Ok, Some Oscars are more susceptible to changes than others... We really need you to check your water... If you cleaned the tank and the filter, you probably are having water issues..

How did you clean the filter?

What are you using to treat for ick? Do you have aeration in the tank? Lots of meds deplete the oxygen in the tank..

Please give us readings for
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate.

We need to know how you cleaned your filter and how big your tank is! This will help us help you!
