I have a 135gall tank with 2 baby 6cm tiger oscars and 4 baby 6cm Silver dollars in there. Everything was fine. they have been active since i got them.. all was well.
To my HORROR this morning when i turned the light on 1 oscar was sulking in the corner all by himself lying on his side. i looked closely and saw on him some sort of white slime or string or something on him. it looks like his been attacked or something. I dont know what went wrong.!!! all he does is sit in corner on his side..he didn't even eat this morning.. the rest are swimming as usual. What should i do??>
my water tests came out fine as usual.
any ideas??

Can you post a photograph? Does this look like an injury? Sometimes if the flesh has been torn, it looks like something is hanging off the fish. Also, you may get fungus growing on wounds. Bacteria infections can cause a great deal of slime as well as parasitic infections as well. Unfortunately we haven't got a lot to go on just by your description so a photograph would help us a lot

To be quite honest I can't really see anything apart from what looks like a superficial injury. Can you please test for ammonia and nitrite. You mentioned something about a spider web on the skin, does it look like little bits of dust as well

It is absolutely imperative that we know your ammonia, nitrite, nitrates and pH readings. I want to rule out poor water conditions. Unfortunately your photo is still not good enough for us to see exactly what is going on.
You describe the faeces as white and thin, would you describe it as stringy?
I don't want to worry you unduly, that this could be a sign of internal parasites, but let's hope it isn't, sometimes the season is a white in colour and there isn't a problem

Ammonia 0ppm

Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 5.0
the white waste.. no, not stringy as such. long but normal..

Your water seemed to check out okay. Unfortunately can't see much in the photos, so it's difficult to know what to suggest. Assuming it is just an injury, keep your water in good condition and it should hael okay.
Maybe you can get some video posted at some stage. You may be able to seek more

okay. he still isn't eating. he started to move a little but he isn't eating. he hasn't eaten in 2 days. the white slime went away. he only has a little scar on his head which is healing (due to hitting it on the driftwood).. i noticed he is really really skinny. his second half of his body is really thin, like paper thin. OFL suggested a internal parasite. how could i go about treating that?
