This is Red and Piglet.... Red is the Red O and Piglet is the Tiger O. What the heck is going on with Red?? The two of them have been roughing housing it, Piglet chases Red then vice-versa. This morning this is what Red looks like.

Remember I am dealing with water issues....

PH 7.6
Ammonia 0.0
Nitrites 1.0 (almost 0.5)

I have cut back on feeding - which is when the chasing started. I am doing 30% water changes daily. The numbers have improved. Just want to make sure something else isn't causing problems.

Help!!

Looks like slight bulling to me. I wouldn't worry... Just a couple of missing scales. Maybe he rubbed up against some decor... Just keep an eye on it!

I'm a little nervous because I lost a tank full of "other" fish about 6 months ago to ICK.

Do I need to separate these guys already??? Or are they fighting due to the food?

The nitrite wouldn't cause this would it?

That looks very superficial to me so I shouldn't worry, if it happened overnight then it's probably just a little bit of rough behaviour between the two

So they have been going at it non-stop for over an hour. Piglet chasing Red who looks stressed out! I went and purchased one of those mesh tank dividers. Now they are both in their own half of the tank. Red still looks stressed but hopefully this will give him a break.

How long do I keep them apart??

Separation is usually up to the owners discretion, you know your fish best.. what most people do after dividing O's for a time is put the Aggressor into the side of the fish being bullied. I'm not sure about how long sorry, I've only got the 1 Oscar and hes fine with my Sev.

Maby a couple weeks? Someone will sort you out soon Brooksie

I know with BGH time out net 4-6 hours will be enough for the bullied fish to take over the territory of the aggressor.
But with a divider i really don't know.
We'll just bump the thread once more.

BGH ?? We talked about all these initials !!

Update.... Kept them apart all night. Up at 5:30 and they were on their own sides. By 8:45, somehow they were both on the same side. Separated them again, less than 5 mins later, they were on the same side again !!! Sneaky little guys. For the life of me I can't see how they did it! Regardless, the divider is out. They are both swimming around nicely. We'll see what happens.

Thanks again all you lovely fish helpers!
