So, I was doing a partial water change and my whisper filter fell off the tank and into the water. My friend had used silicon to put cool rocks all over it, unfortunately, I think, over time, the water changes allow the weight to bend the piece that it hangs on. I bought a new one, and want to know if I should put the existing cartridges in there to avoid having to cycle all over. I picked up an additional one to run along side it as an immediate fix. This is all happening currently, and any advice as to what to do RIGHT NOW are helpful. The filter was totally submerged, and let lose all kinds of crap into the water.

Take the filter cartrages out of the broken filter and put them in the new filer... Instant cycle as long as the filter cartrages didn't dry out. Keep an eye on your water!

Awesome. That's exactly what I did. It was so crazy. I think it stressed me out more than the fish. I felt like I dropped my baby on it's head....not that I've ever done that....

you know what???? whatever happens to my fishes, the wifey and my children are
always concern on me than my fishes....as if i will get a heart attack if something
happens to my fishes...

All right...I think all is well with my fish world again. My water seems to be back to normal, and I threw on another filter, so it's doubled up finally. Will the new filter affect the water so much we'll be doing water changes every day in 3 weeks if the old stuffs still in the other one? I kept it wet and running while I went to the store, so it was all good.

Beyond that, I've now spent a few hours with my O and he seems to be doing well...looks like a snail shell got chipped in the chaos a bit...poor snail. All in all, I think I can finally go to sleep now. 5 short hours before work begins...
