My GT's have been chasing each other round for hours, about 20 hours but recently i saw one scratch itself against the gravel and ornaments just 3 times then didnt do it again, it seemed to yawn after doing it too. It hasnt done it since. There are no visable white spots and everything is normal.

My LFS has been shut today so i do not have a water testing kit. My brother took it and left it at his house. One other cichlid has a white spot on its chin but is never seen itching at all and seems fine.

Is it anything to worry about? I have Ick Treatment on me.

The tank has been running for 1 day. It had 4 fish in for about 15 hours then today another 7 were added.

Thanks

i'm at a loss here.
Your filter has been running for one day?
Then it's not cycled and your fish are itching from the nitrites.
If your tank is not cycled properly you will need to do waterchanges daily to get the toxins out of the water.
That may take over 6 weeks.
is the info correct on the filter running only one day?

I transfered 30% of my cycled tanks water over and the filter from the other tank which has been running for about 4 months now with fish in.
Theres the cycled filter and a new filter in the tank.

1 day? your looking at 5 6 weeks to cycle a tank, i think thats your problem, no good bacteris in you filter to brake the bad stuff down

the bacteria lives in your filter not your water/tank

Ok, that's cool, the beneficial bacteria will establish in the new filter, but you may have some trouble due to the bigger instant bioload.
Without the results for Ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates it's hard to tell you what's going on exactly, though.
waterchanges will help, at least 30% daily.
Do you use Prime on your new water?

When the water was added i used TetraAqua's Aquasafe and EasyBalance with Aquasana. I also added some Api StressCoat+.

The cycled filter is in the tank and will be staying in there. Also the ornaments from the old tank are in. Dont know if that helps. I shall have the readings tomorrow. Im going to run down to the LFS in the morning.

that would help a lot in helping us pinpoint the problem.
Most beneficial bacteria will be in the filter, not on the ornaments.

btw how big is your tank and what's the flowrate of your filters?

Using this filter has been your saving grace. Test your water (use the bottles not the strips). You need ammonia and nitrite to be zero. If they are above zero then do daily 25% water changes until they are zero

When you test your water can you post the results for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate

How big is your tank and can you list the fish you have in it

Only feed what you fish will eat in 2 mins no matter how hungry they look
I can't get no sleep

the bacteria in the new filter will not have seeded enough to carry the larger bioload, i think.
that's gonna take some time...
don't feed too much now until you get some results of the water tests.

newly acquired fish/es is/are prone to injury, either due to netting and bagging,
or due to splashing/darting in a new tank....there are times we didn't notice
existing problem from the lfs... thus, you should not worry much... considering
that you have seeded tank, it will normalized soon....just keep an eye on
water parameter, and be ready for the contingency medication if ever needed.
