Okay so I changed filter media in my magnum 350 to bio media (scrubber sponges)to replace my old carbon. This evening I checked my water parameters and found I have a small Amonia spike.25ppm.(expected)I'm running two filters a penguin 350 bio wheelwhich i left the olds media in.Apparently the penguin is not keeping up with the bio-load. How long do you all think it will take the magnum to catch up?
Amonia .25
Nitrite .25
Nitrate 5.0
PH 7.0

Sounds like a mini cycle... I would just leave it for a few days then check your water again...

A really small cork would probably work.

if i may ask, when was the last water change? 0.25 ammonia is normal to a tap
supply.... may be that is just the culprit.... but having a working filter,
it wouldn't pose danger at all...

Is indeed your pH is neutral then as it stands your ammonia will be hardly toxics at all. The nitrite isn't very high so as long as it doesn't stay like this for too long, things should be okay for your fish

Did a water change on Friday tested Saturday, tested that evening and then today.
I kinda expected a small spike. How long do you think it will take the filter to catch up? I've never used sponges or bio media always carbon.
