Hi guys.
I haven't posted here for a long time now.....but I need a little help.
When I cleaned the tank today, I noticed some worm looking things in the bucket.
I picked one up to have a closer look, and it looks like a centapede but skinny, clear and little eyes...
Any ideas?
I googled and came up with Planaria worms?

Sort of like this.

Never experienced them myself but there have been a few posts recently about the planeria worms. Sounds like they are harmless, other than being an eyesore, and most likely from overfeeding.

control feeding and regular cleaning is the only way...if you want to keep
the substrate therein..... in my case, i remove the substrate and have a
bare bottom tank

im not sure this is planaria... i have had planaria issues a couple different times in my long career keeping fish, and i have never once found a planaria worm big enough to pick up and inspect legs on it. biggest i have seen measured at most 1/16th inch long, and very thin. they are flat worms, and generally speaking flatworms dont have the little legs like you have drawn. is it possible its some sort of Polychaeta??? (like a bristle worm?)

i am not proficient enough to tell the different species apart, but i can tell you some are poisonous and active predators. however the majority are opportunistic scavengers. "I" personally would be flippin right f*** out and have some hemostats and start plucking them out and killing them... carefully so as not to get stung.

can you post your water parameters for us? is this a freshwater tank? i know that sounds silly but most of the bristleworms are marine, and the majority are actually harmless. whats in your tank?
