yesterday morning i changed my gravel to sand and my tank has a steam like fog circulating in it is this normal? how long will it take to settle down or should it have settled by now
i run 2 canisters and 2 bubble pads thanx

from my experience the tank is just cloudy with little sand particles floating around. it would take at least a day , but i bets its normal to tske msybe three or four days in your case.

It will settle quite quickly. Once it has settled then empty for filter and you will find some sand settled in the bottom, remove this and put the filter back on

It allways gives an extra dimension to fishkeeping, if you can actually SEE the fish!

Tell that to my pleco in my samll tank. I bought him put him in saw him for 2 days. 6 weeks later I fianally see im again and he has now decided to hang out in plain view.
2x Red Oscar
1x Jack Dempsey
1x Green Terror
1x Leopard Pleco

lol, i got a very rare wild caught Xingu pleco, and i guess i've seen him in the open for maybe ten minutes in all the years i got him.
Lovely pleco, but has never gotten used to the confined space i provide him with.
Stays in his cave and only moves in total darkness.
Not even nightlights can tempt him into showing, although that works on all the other plecos i have...
this is him, in his cave of course.
