I have 2 oscars, and I decided that I have to get rid of one, he's albino and basicly blind from the start, and I can't get him to eat so I have to find someone that can care for him better. So I also decided I was going to look for another one, my mother came home today with a new one for me. I noticed right away that something wasn't right with his head, I really don't think it's HITH because his, I guess I'll call it his forehead, is completely dented in, but not wounds or anything, just a really dented forehead, almost like a parrot fish. I don't like the looks of this and if something is wrong I want him taken back to the store before it's too late, and I only have until tomarrow night to get my money back for a healthy fish. Does anyone have any idea what it might be? Is he just deformed?

I have no idea what the problem is from your description, but if you don't like the fish you should take it back now

From what you said, it sounds like a deformation for whatever reason, we probably could only speculate over the possible causes. So if you don't want it, you might want to take it back, I don't think it would go away.
I'd probably end up keeping exactly those ones, lol.

i am new to this sight but have had fish for about ten years and if he is swimming, eating, pouting,and moody then he may be just an oscar with a deformed head. you may want to ask the store to grant you special circumstance considering... and observe him for a couple more days. i am the one to pick out the funny ones myself and you may be just what he needs. call the store and see what they say, if they won't grant the time... you may ask them why not?

Your oscar may be deformed, however oscars do vary. Most oscars are very similar looking but i have seen pictures of oscar with a more rounded head and also seen some with a sort of pointed snout look to them. Post a pic and we will be able to tell you more

If you dont like the look of the fish and think you wont grow to love him (you will off course assuming he isnt deformed) then return him
