I just got a baby oscar and put him or her, in my tank with my two other oscars. The two that I've had are about 4 or 5 inches and this baby is about 1, someone told me at the store that they didn't think the baby would get picked on since I had another new one in the tank the night before, I got rid of him, but my tiger will not stop chasing him, the poor thing can't come out of the corner, it's been two days now. My other oscar seems to be fine with the little guy, he even seems to be a little upset at all the craziness in there now. I wouldn't give the baby up, but I am seriously considering giving the tiger away if he won't stop, I have nowhere else to put him. Will he ever stop?????

this is normal as oscars are very teritorial and a new addition to the tank can cause havoc.

go to yr lfs and buy a tank devider they are fairly cheap divide the tank so that the two can see each other but not get to each other.

the more dominant o will get use to the baby and this will give the baby sum time to grow aswell.

just a suggestion use it dont use!

Threes a crowd usually what happens is two of the O's will pair up and pick on the third. Since the two original O's have already established their territory it maybe very difficult to get them to accept the third O.

The divider may work but if it were me I'd just return the new O to your LFS.

i agree with vbaby, however try rearranging the decor and see what happens. If that dont work get the divider and leave for 2 weeks then put the other 2 into the new ones side for a couple of days. If the grief continues then rehome the new one.

Thanks to for the suggestions, I tried to move stuff around in the tank, but the next day the tiger killed him.

sorry to hear about your loss. If you are going to get another get a divider and keep them separate until the small one gets bigger. Even then there is no guarantees they will get on
