I woke up this morning and found my oscar floating on one side, when I used the
net to move it, it started to swim a bit but went back to floating, when I
turned it over I was horrified to find one side had loss it's scales and had
one cloudy eye. It was fine last night I don't understand. the only
other tankmate it has is an algae eater, could he have possibly hurt
my oscar? I placed him in another tank he's able to balance now but seems
a bit weak. I wanted to find out if my oscar's gonna be alright,
and if their was anything else I could do.

could be swimbladder disease. I would do a 50% water change, keep water temp as close as possible. dont feed for two days and then give frozen/thawed peas after the wait.

if its cloudy eye or pop eye, you will need to use epsom salt instead of aquarium salt( aquarium salt is for healing his scales) and the pop eye seems way more important to treat right now.

Since you have a pleco you can only dose 1 tbls for every 10 gallons. If he is alone, dose 1 tbls for every 5 gallons. This can alos help with bloating which is one of the causes of swim bladder disease,

you must have had some issues with ammonia or something with water quality, diet or over feeding.

what are your water readings, diet and frequency?

if the damage is only on one side, perhaps it is an injury.
a picture could help us evaluate the situation. do you have
unprotected heater?
