I have treated my oscar for ick... I have raised the temp to 82F and treated for one week. Grouch still has a couple white spots on his fins and has been rubbing them on the sand in the tank.
My water parameters are perfect as I do 2 changes/ week of 25-30% and test often.
I'm just trying to figure out if this is in fact a parasite or some kind of bacterial infection.
Will post pics shortly.
Thanks guys!

The pics are on my profile under my babies. It's the first two that will show the white spot. It's almost like a tiny cotton ball and the lines on the fins are curved around it's location.
It's weird anyway.
Thanks for all of your help!!

Sometimes oscars get these marks on the fins, it might have been caused by the white spot. I wouldnt worry about it too much, just keep an eye on it
I can't get no sleep

I think those spots are too big to be white spot. I agree with Del boy, it is quite common for fish to develop little marks on their fins occasionally, some of my fish sometimes get them. My water is in very good condition so I tend to just leave it be and the marks normally disappear after a few days. The key is keeping your water in good condition, ammonia and nitrite always zero, and not letting nitrate get any higher than 40 ppm, preferably lower.
I may not always be right, but I am always the boss

I have no idea what it is and it doesn't seem to be hurting grouch.
There are a couple other smaller ones but the almost look like mini cotton balls.
They form on the fins and are almost furry. This is my concern.
These spots are limited only to the fins as well.
I do have another question......
Why in the world do I have little tiny flies stuck to the glass canopy of the tank?
Could this be related to the white cotton-like balls on grouch's fins?
I'm just speculating.....
