My tiger oscar, Ozzie, is really sick. I have only had him for a week, but already very attached. Yesterday he was fine, but I had noticed some "moldy" patches on his sides. I researched and all signs pointed to ick. I followed the advise on treating w/ aquarium salt, but today when I came in from work, his fins are shredded, and he looks like he is peeling. Also he has white "cottony" substance in his mouth and hanging out like string. My tank is fairly new and I have had some problems w/ high ammonia and nitrite, but I have been doing 20% water changes daily and am seeing a positive change. can anyone please help?

What size tank is he in?
Any tank mates?
What are your readings for Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate?
What filter system do you have running?

2nd... that is common to problem of fishes with un-cycled tank.
