A little bit more information about your setup would be helpful. How many fish have you got, and what type are they? Also, you're going to need to test for ammonia as well

I tried the chemicals to clear cloudy water, I turned off 2 of the four filters I tested the water, I was never really told what to do besides test the water and remove the rocks and drift wood,

Read the section on cycling. When your inced your filter in tap water you killed your beneficial bacteria.

Keep testing your water, turn ALL filters back on and STOP adding chemicals to your tank.

We need your ammonia reading to be sure. Then I can tell you how much water to change.

What 7 fish? And how big are they?

Ok. Several steps for you here,
#1 Reduce your stock or Upgrade your tank ASAP! You have far too many fish (even at that size) in your tank. That tank is suitable for 1 Oscar! NOTHING else!

#2 Do a 30% water change EVERYDAY until Ammonia and Nitrite are 0 and Nitrate is below 40 ppm but above 5ppm.

#3 you will need to test for all of these water reading everyday!

It will take a bit, but you will get there! Just hang in there!

with the previous thread, it was pointed out that cleaning all filter
media and replacing some is the culprit of cloudiness. normally, we do not
recommend medication since you still have substrate that could help stabilized
your filter.... however, since you opted to apply some medicine, that one
needs another waiting.... you need to continuously test the water to be guided
accordingly. the result will be your gauges for water change.
