is it ok to add amonia drops just for keeps sake, I borrowed a tester but it didnt have the instructions I was told if the water turned yellow I had amonia, will it hurt any to add a amonia tablet to the tank, my tank is still cloudy even after cycling 30 percent of my tank two days in a row, My fish are healthy and active should I see if it goes away or keep changing 30 percent everyday

Water changes wont harm your fish so i would keep doing them until you get an accurate ammonia reading from your tank. What brand test do you got?

you need to keep in mind that a cycle on a tank can take up to 5 weeks.

Now if you get back to us with the brand of Ammonia test you have we can possibly tell you what your reading was.

i am not sure what beneifit you will get by adding ammonia or ammonia tablets.
most fish keepers are trying to remove ammonia in the fish tank, here you are
trying to add more....

if you have added ammonia to a tank with fish I would do 30-50% water change asap. we need some more info to help you more. like what are you trying to achieve? my guess is as the others, a fishless cycle with fish..

I dont want to add amonia its a tablet to remove amonia, the drops I have to test for amonia is Aquarium Pharmaceuticals my sister inlaw gave me the bottle and the bottle and she said if it turnes yellow I have amonia, I did that and it was a slight shade of yellow.

on the American Pharmaceuticals test kit, the ammonia turns yellow if there is NO ammonia present. It will turn green in different shades if there IS ammonia present.

So if the vial turned yellow, then that is GOOD... Did you use 2 bottles or 1?

dude this is like the 5th post of you having problems...READ THE SITE!!!. you obviously didnt cycle the tank if you have nitrite reading....Keep doing water changes if tank isnt cycled and read up on Oscar info, it will help.

What I was getting at, is the American Pharmaceuticals water test for Ammonia has 2 bottles. You will add 8 drops from bottle #1, Then add 8 drops from Bottle #2 And shake to get a result. Unless this is what you did, then it was not a true result.
