JamesS ( User ) OFFLINE Posts: 219	I am having to recycle my tank due to power loss, and my JD as developed Ick. I was wondering should I treat it or just continue with the daily water changes. If I should medicate what would you guys recommend.

NickiSue ( Admin ) OFFLINE STOP BEING AN IDIOT!!!!! Posts: 16402	Turn your tank temp up to 86 degrees, slowly. The temp increase quickens the life cycle of the ick and kills it off. Leave the temp up for 10 days and then check the fish... After 10 days the ick should be gone!

JamesS ( User ) OFFLINE Posts: 219	Almost forgot Ammonia .125ppm (just a smidge of green) Nitrite 1.5ppm (hard to tell but im sure its not to 2, also I have been told this could be because of my mini cicle) Nitrate 15ppm pH 6.8

Capt Dave ( User ) OFFLINE Posts: 4184	X2 i had luck with raising the temp too and i aslo added a low dose of salt. 1 teaspoon per seven gallons. I know a lot of people dont like to use salt but it worked for me
