Hi all, sorry I dont have a pic at the moment, but will do a video tonight and post.
I have 2 oscars in a 6' tank along with 5 SDs and 2 angels.
My tiger O who would be about 18 months old has seriously gone off his food, and it looking VERY ordinary.
He hasnt eaten for about 4 days, and he usually is the 1st one to the side of the tank when it is feeding time. He just hangs out in the corner of the tank and sort of pants. It doesnt look as if he has anything stuck in his mouth or anything - but he is just NOT himself.

any suggestions as to what might be his problem?

Water parameters are all the same as they have always been
Nitrites - 0
Amonia - 0
Nitrates - 15
temp - 27

Nothing different, except abut 3 weeks ago I gave them some yabbies (with claws/nippers cut off). Both Oscars ate a couple of them, the Lutino is fine, nothing wrong with his/her appetite.

cheers
L

The fish have all been in the tank for over a year - the oscars have even had one batch of eggs (about 6 weeks ago).
He also isnt really hiding, just sort of hanging out at the back of the tank - all of the other fish are leaving him alone and he is just looking sick and panting.

Does your fish look healthy, any new lumps or bumps or any injuries

What do you feed your oscar, they can go off their food if it isnt varied. Try offering your fish different food. Alternatives are maggots, worms, mealworms, prawns (or any seafood sold in shops), different types of pellets

delboybully is right, try something else and look for war wounds. the best of friends can be the worst of enemies at a moments notice. My two go back and forth allllll the time. Sometimes are best buds, other times are enemies. It took me to move the tiger to another tank, bring him back, let the RD takeover, then remove the RD in order for the lutino to stop keeping the tiger in the corner 100% of the time.

If theres an injury def could cause strange behavior, Os are notorious for sulking! Let us know if some of dels food suggestions worked!!

I have checked for war wounds, and nothing.. I have tried blood worms, his normal pellets, even feeder fish (which he would normally go wild over) and nothing, he isnt interested in anything.

Not sure what I should do.. he just looks miserable..

I have tried worms (from the garden), he wont even come over to where I feed them. I have even tried taking food to him, but he turns his head away.

I would take a photo/video, but my daughter has my camera.. ggrr

WEll, it has been about 2weeks now since Tex has eaten anything. He is just sitting on the bottom of the tank panting..

Any thoughts on what I should do?
Should I put him out of his misery, kindly.. or should I just leave him and keep my fingers crossed that he will just get better?

cheers

I would give it more time unless he looks like he is suffering...

Oscars often throw fits, (Like Children) So unless he is REALLY suffering I would hold off.
It's NOT smart to piss off the girl with the BAN button!
