My oscar is acting very strange. I have run all the tests available for his water, all coming out normal. He is in a 55 gallon tank, by himself, he ate all his tankmates a year ago. I feed him feeder fish once every two weeks. I put 10 in his tank 3 days ago, he ate one and hasn't eaten anything else since then, which is VERY uncharacteristic of him. He has been doing serious moving of the gravel and rocks in his tank, attacking the driftwood he has in it as well. After a very close inspection of him it seems that his jaw is off center and he can not, or will not close his mouth. It is gaping so far open that I can see well into his mouth and it looks like nothing is lodged in it. He is attacking the glass, and his body almost spasms, this happens at least every 15 minutes or so. I called the pet shop that we got him from 3 years ago and he said to leave the fish alone for a few more days. The fish is in obvious discomfort. I am hoping someone has had an experience like this or knows what I can do to help our fish. He is a much loved part of the family.
