How do I treat fin rot for my green severums. I was gonna put them in my ten gallon and give conditioning salt and stress coat, and some cichlid conditioner. What do you suggest?.

Firstly, how do you know it's fin rot? Maybe you could post a photograph for us? Some people mistake a frayed or damaged fin for fin rot.

A couple of medications come to mind,Myxazin and Melafix can both be used to treat fin rot.

i will try to get some pictures, but the fins are really freyed, and rugged, and ripped in some places, i was gonna try to give them a short term bath but it might just be the fins are freyed. and the oscars are in the big tank.

Not being funny here gc. 'prevention is better than a cure'

Good clean water is the best tihng for a tank. Amms 0 Nits 0 Nats 10-20ppm.

Even before I knew about water testing I vacuumed the gravel every four or five days and kept is spotless. I never really had a problem at all
