Had this little guy around a week and everything has been fine until now. I have fed him only once today as I noticed his belly is still fairly rounded from the food I fed him yesterday. iv decided to not feed him till he passes this food but his anal tube seems very swollen and full and its been like that all day. I feed him on cichlid gold baby pellet at the moment and it is very good quality food. can Oscars become constipated? do they need a fibre boost? LOL this is the fist time iv seen this..any suggestions would be gladly accepted

oscar can eat like a pig to the extent of having a swollen belly. as long as
they are active and still begging for foods, i wouldn't worry that much. just
keep the water under check and you will be fine. look at this picture, the o
looks like his belly is about to explode...

Thanks paul iv owned Oscars before I just dont remember the anal tube being so swollen?

I wouldnt worry about it yet. If he isnt eating and it is still the same in a couple days then he may have constipation

He is still very hungry he goes mad if I go near the tank
