Hello everyone

I have just joined the site, while in search for a cause and solution to my problem. I have bought some baby oscars, black and albino, a couple of months ago. 2 weeks ago, 5 of my 6 albinos stopped eating and huddled in the bottom corner of the tank, breathing heavier than the rest and never actually closing their mouths. every now and then their tails would twitch for a few seconds at a time. there seemed nothing wrong with them visually in terms of signs of a disease. the rest of the fish, the other 9 black oscars were fine. the albinos all died after a week, leaving a single one behind. now a single black one is going through the same. their water parameters seem fine.

can someone please give some help, i realy dont want to lose all of them and need to know whats going on

thanks guys

E.

welcome to the community

Am I correct in saying that you bought 15 Oscars? how big is your aquarium? Did you cycle it before adding the fish? Finally, have you tested your water for ammonia, nitrites, nitrate and pH?

This is becoming an interesting thread...
You make us all very curious for the answers to the above questions.
I'm affraid you wou wouldt have been better of if you found this site earlier in time.

My LFS will not sell 15 oscars to someone, they simply won't do that, for it spells trouble.

15 oscars???? no info whether tank is cycled or not???? filtration size???
your fishes are really doomed???? i hope you still have few left by now!
a fine water has no meaning to us.... we need actual info: ammonia? nitrate?
nitrite? pH? temp?
