After much debate with myself
I finally decided on my design for the hood to match and finish off the stand etc

It'll be partly sloped with 2 lift up doors in front (1 x pictured)

the ridge on the sides shown will support the hood the lids will rest on the front glass adding support




the ridge inside the side



added this one to give a better idea



waiting on glue to dry more coming soon

So far so good, inspiring stuff there, I want to do my own wooden hood but can't justify the price they are asking in the shops for something that looks half as good as the one you made.

I am buiding my own cabinet and hood presently as well, but a little less ambitious than yours. I have done butt joint corners, never been much chop with a mitre saw.
