:woohoo: :woohoo: i thought the 3D background is just a
tank back ground:woohoo: :woohoo: after seeing the stages
of your project, it seems to me that your tank will look
like a real amazon river, not just the background.
shame on me for the 3D backdrop we put in the hotel's live
fish aquarium:laugh:   :P

Very cool indeed. I like how it coming together and I can see it already. Would like to see how you plan to do the roots.

JUST A LITTLE UPDATE FOR THOSE WHO ARE INTERESTED THE ROCK shaping has been completed and the first layer of hydraulic aqua stop plug ,covering the background ...the first coat is thin but another 2 coats and it will look prety good.the aqua stop is safe to the fish it just raises the ph to around 9 so what i do is leave the background in the shower for about 4 hrs and then soak it for 2 days in water with about a kilo of salt to cure the aqua stop ...but with this one after the process above is complete its having a total covering of EPOXY RESIN MARINE GRADE LOYDS APROVED ,to ensure the aquastop is encapsulated and it becomes like hard plastic ...to answer marcus question about how long they last ..they last forever with the epoxy covering as the ones you buy are not covered and pieces break off easily but you can hit mine with a hammer ant not even mark them!!!!!!!!!!! i will stop the shine of the epoxy with a layer of pit sand /silva sand ,layed over just as the resin is tacky but not wet ,,,,...the next stage is to put the MANGROVE ROOTS ONTOP OF THE ROCK(dadymac) YOU WILL HAVE TO WAIT JUST A BIT LONGER, for this stage ...pics of the hydraulic aqua stop going on (first coat and still wet in pics)see below
