that looks nice it's gonna make your discus colors pop, just a tip if any of your discus are blue you can swap one of the 6700k bulbs for a 10000k bulb and it will accent the blue better

Yea, I don't know exactly what the rating is on that ballast, so I didn't want to overload it. And since I was teaching myself wiring and all that jazz, i'm just glad the house isn't on fire

basically, the wiring diagram from one socket to another is indicated at the
back of the ballast itself.... it is either for one bulb or two...

Yea, so maybe you know this, if I put bulbs that need a higher powered ballast in there, would they simply not illuminate? Or would they be dimmer?

I think they just won't start. The ballast basically provides a spark to get your gasses to make light, if the spark isn't intense enough, no start.

I one summer when I was in college for a summer job took out all the old lights in schools and put it new super white t5s that were energy efficient I believe ... really really boring ...
