Does anyone know what the required acrylic glass thickness needs to be for a 70 gallon tank? We're interested in making our own tank.

10mm for anything from 55 gal to 100gal then 12mm -15mm over that depending on dimentions .......for all glass tanks in my house anyway

fisrt off are you going to use acrylic or glass?
secondly the thickness of glass or acrylic depends on the height of the tank. the taller the tank the thicker the glass/acrylic.
having said that for an 18 inch tall tank you should use 1/4 glass or 3/8 acrylic.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!
