48hrs is all it takes for the silicone to be dry... Get to filling that damn thing! LOL

Trust smell, not what the package says. If you can still smell silicone, it's not dry.

It really can take a week, Miss Nicki. Wet silicone is poisonous to fish.

I guess in extreme cold temps I could see it taking that long, but I have never waited more than 48hrs.

The tube usually says dry within 24, but I know the pressure in one of these tanks so I give it extra curing time...

What kind of silicone did you use that took a week???

even if he filled it he would only be testing it first ne way he could proly let it hold water for a day and see how that goes if it was dry... I would I always double and triple check that is y my tank is taking so danm long

I used marineland silicone it says 48-72 hours so I figured double it. To hell with it you all talked me into it I'm going for the test fill now.

That's the 125 I'm building. I have to completely disassemble it clean all the glass and put it back together. I have to sand the frame one last time and add a couple more coats of polyurethane before I get it together. I have a thread about it with pics of what I have done to it so far.
