I did, there's a post about it a page back, basically, it works just fine when you position the husk higher than the working cannister, with water going from the tank, to the husk, to the cannister, to the tank. It is a bit of a pain to get started - emptying everything is the easiest way for me.

It cuts flow rate in half, which with my cannisters had me worried about dead spots (they tend to get them with full flow too, so I don't want to encourage it here) but this would be a great way to double your media capacity if you didn't have dead spots like I do. Perhaps with a higher flow rate to start with?

I now have the husk running with and external pump, carefully balanced in the space between the pipes and the 'push-to-start' button.

get the hubby to take a really big stick and stir the dead spots in your aquarium every couple of hours XD
