Thanks a lot guys!:) I plan on taking lots of pictures and documenting the build as much as possible of course if you have any questions as i go feel free to ask.

@Rock...there's a few advantages to doing it the way i did. I want top and bottom to be as flat as possibke so its best to frame it on a flat surface. This way when i attach a piece of ply to the top theres no uneveness in the framing. Also when doing this by yourself its just much easier and faster to frame it this way. Squareness is also easier to achieve this way

yay Jason I am so excited heehee :woohoo:

Are you going to put a side panel of glass in? If I did mine again I think I would add a side glass panel so you can view from front and from side. Its just a thought.

I also used pond paint to seal and hopefully its holding up well for now. I couldnt find liquid rubber safe for fish as the only stuff here in UK is for roofs and fiberglass seemed to tricky for me.

Stand is looking good.

Glad you are only going 24inches high as that is what everyone recommends and to be honest I wanted higher but having it up and running the height is just fine.

keep us posted how long to you estimate it will take to build?

I'm living my life, but not necessarily in the right order :)

It's funny how the subliminal messages of plywood tanks bounced off Eddie and stuck on Jason

But a very good one, imo.
I'm positive I'd miss the sideview, if it wasn't there in my tank.

Thanks yeah ill do more vids for sure. There are a lot higher quality plywoods that are already sanded so no you wouldnt have to do it then. Im actually debating using a different product to seal it called Wetsuit. Its a liquid rubber type product but is more like neoprene. Supposedly silicone sticks to it well which is a problem with some of the other liquid rubbers. So i like it since you just paint it on. Then i eont have to deal with fiberglass and epoxy which is a lot more difficult to get right.

I figure total lumber will cost $300
Sealing the tank $200
Glass if i go 1/2" $300 (3/8" $230)

The lumber cost includes stand and finish work
