Virindi created the topic: My lights and lid

I promised I would do it; so here it is.

It is not finished; I have to find a way to hide all the ugly stuff.. maybe I will destroy this again in a few months and start over I don't know..
Of course the photos show all the details and therefore the crappiness; it doesn't look that bad in person.
I had a lot of stones beautifully arranged in there but I got sick of cleaning them; I removed everything until I find better stuff.

I started with T shaped aluminum bars glued to the top of the class all around except where my filtration tubes are.

The lids are made of clear acrylic. Thickness 5mm. I put the them in a aluminum frame (?) for rigidity.
They come on the T aluminum.

The lights:
10x 10W led projectors (6500K) + 4x 24 blue waterproof led bars; they are brand new but bad wiring inside the bars.. some leds don't work.. bah.

That's how I open to access the water.

Each bar is connected to the next on the dry side. I use double sided tape to hold the bars + some silicone to protect the tape from water.

This is to show the difference, one side with blue; one without.

And all on, my baby oscar is on the right side next to the bubbles.. I ordered 2 large roots and will totally rework on the decoration.

Bed time!

Very nice looking set up. Can't wait to see it when the roots are in place. Love the night lights as well . :)

It would be too flexible without the aluminum around. With the weight of the projectors it would certainly crack.

The other lights are also leds; 10W in each projector. 900 lumens each

I don't know how to hide the wiring, probably I'll change the white cables with only 2 tiny wires for each light, since the power input is very low.
There will be a long piece of wood all around the top just like at the bottom to cover the T shaped aluminum.

I decided to change that system.. I will separate the power supply and the high power leds themselves, put them in 2 long clean ramps, sitting on the lids, also include the blue leds, no more cables everywhere.

About the decoration... the store I ordered the roots from refunded me because the product isn't available anymore.. they were 2 large fake roots 70+cm and 50+cm, really good looking..
So I have to find something else also for this.
