So I have my 125 up n going but dislike the idea of just having an open tank, there is no trim around the top of this tank its just glass (I think its a homemade tank personally, free off craigslist) is there trim I can. Buy that will make a channel for a lid to sit down in like my 55 gal tanks have? What have you guys done in the past for lids? I was thinking about building a lid out of 1x6-8s glueing them together, cutting a .75"x.75" strip to go around the underside so it sits over the top of tank and won't slide off. Then cutting out 2 lids with hinges and holes for filter/ lights. Staining it to match the stand and polying it so it don't mold/mildew

The tank sounds iffy. No bracing, no cross members? I would fill this thing OUTSIDE, check for bow out, and obviously leaks.
