Well I can't take credit for this design as Win helped me out with the planning part...I just made them! Turned out pretty well I think. Needed an intake and a spray bar for the eheim canister I got off craigslist and made both out of PVC pipe for about 1/4 of the cost of new ones from eheim!!! I will post a better "drawing" (again from Win) and more detailed build instructions once I get my scanner working. Just thought I'd at least post some pics of the finished project...pretty easy to do and saves a lot of money!

Hey Win...what size holes did you drill in your spray bar? I don't want to make them too big so it doesn't spray hard enough.

lol i actually took my rena xp4's spray bar out to the garage and matched the holes lol.. i think it had 8, i put 11 in my spray bars. uhhhh i dont know exactly what size it was as i just eyeballed it and got a bit just slightly oversize from the stock ones. ill get back to you on this.

well the stock ones measure 3/16th of an inch, i think i used 7/32 or 1/4. even with more and larger diameter holes i get excellent flow. i went with the idea more is better as its less resistance for the pump and it would result in a higher GPH flow. i dont use any valves to control flow rate either, its just straight to the pump on both sides.

Thanks for checking Win! I'm gonna drill the holes tonight and get everything ready! Oh and might have to pick your brain again on how to make my own python system! haha! You seem to have a better designing mindset than I do!
