I dunno if this is the right spot or not, but here goes..
When I bought the house I knew nothing of ponds, but as time went on I realized the work involved. Basically my algae got so out of control that no matter how much filtration or water replacement I do its still green and nasty..
So I decided to drain it, and once it got to the bottom I began pulling as many fish out as I could, until it got to the point it was so murky and mud-like that the pump wouldnt pump and my fish were basically writhing around in the gunk dying and I couldnt get to them since it wasnt drained far enough. Soo....basically I dont kow how to remove the gunk, and was thinking the fish are pretty much goners since the gunk is not exactly water, and theres no oxygen. Plus there was apparently a gaping hole that sucked most of them under the liner into more gunk! My pond is so big, refilling it would have...... 1. not done a thing to save them and 2. would have defeated the whole purpose of trying to start my pond from scratch.
I dont know, I was going to scrub it clean, but the condition of the liner is beyond anything I think I can do.. I got as many fish out as I could but lost quite a few. I have been raising these goldfish and koi for over a year and a half.
I was thinking of maybe replacing the liner and adding it right on top of the other liner? If so is this the best idea or not??
Where can I find some cheap roof liner or pond liner?? It is currently roof liner in the pond now and has been fine, but when I type in 'roof liner' in Google, it pulls up car roof liner and not anything else.
Need something inexpensive cause I have the fish and crayfish living in a kiddie pool right now and that cant last too long!!
