You need to get a Liquid water test kit... Then you can test your water everyday and when your Nitrates get to 40ppm you will know you need a water change.

Well the water test kit is about the only answer I can give you.

If your Beneficial bacteria is established enough you should be fine. But If you have a fairly new tank, then it may screw with your cycle! But without testing your water there is no way to know....

There is not a bacteria test... There is a Test for Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate, and PH... That is what you need to be testing.

If you read the section on www.oscarfishlover.com/helpful-articles/testing-your-water

And www.oscarfishlover.com/how-to-cycle-a-tank

These articles will explain what happens to your water... And exactly where your beneficial bacteria comes from and how it survives.

I tend to Use all 4 tests for the first couple of months and once the tank is fully established (Witch mine is) Just test for nitrates and then do my MONDAY water change without fail.

Good quality water testing kits are expensive hear in the UK....I hate this country lol

having 30 gal size tank with that stock... you really need to watch for the
water parameter.... nevertheless, while having no test kit yet, a daily
5 gallon water change can help without altering or cleaning the filter
