Well as many of you know, I recently moved my 125 across the state and the tank was down for about 10 hours. I kept the filter pad and gravel wet in hopes of saving enough bacteria to avoid re-cycling my tank. At first it was unclear whether the bacteria had survived the long trip, but the water test last night confirms that I kept my cycle. AM-0 NITRITE-0 NITRATE-10. So anyways this is good news and I just thought I would share for people like Noddy who were curious if a cycle could be kept intact this way and for this long.

congratz! and thanks for the update..... the water movement while
traveling help keeps the bb alive.... the wave produce while moving
act like a wave in the ocean, thus, keep oxygen dissolve in the tank

check again in a day or 2 just to make sure and update please. I have always been very worried about power cuts but the more I read on this site about the bacteria surviving surprises me. good news for you anyone.

Cool to hear that it worked out.
And like Marcus said, test again in a couple of days.
i get stressed out with a poweroutage of a couple of hours, but it seems stupid now.

Ok sounds good. I'm out of town right now but I'll check when I get home and post the results.
