so i have been having problems with my bio filter, its not 'perfect' yet, i still have small readings of ammonia every now and then which i remove with ammonia remover. too make things a bit easier, i bought a 'about 20 dollar' in-tank ammonia reader. pretty much it's a small oval that has a long rod in the middle that changes colors according to the ammonia, and to the left and right it shows colors (that dont change) to compare..
well i set that up and put it in, and for a while the readings said 0, i was like, great! but after a day and it still read zero, which isn't normal, usually i get a small reading like .25 or .50, so i took out the liquid tester and it said the ammonia was .75 ppm... so im like what the hell..
i guess the inboard tester wasn't as good as they said it was. even if it was made by Mardel
