No I have never used it before, in fact I have never even seen it for sale.
The problem with products that claim to clean your water and the such is that it can make people lazy. You will still need to clean your tank on a regular basis because even though these products may remove nitrate etc, they won't remove solid waste and any uneaten food that may be left in your tank.
There is a product called easy balance. It clearly states in the instructions that you don't need to carry out water changes for six months when using this product. Well I'm sorry, but if you keep fish in an aquarium, you have got to carry out maintenance on a regular basis whatever these products say.

I still do regular water changes even though I am using purigen. The reason I use it is because I have 50+kg of bog wood in the aquarium that turns the water brown. The purigen clears the water up and makes it crystal clear, but is very expensive. Thye give you instructions on how to regenarate it, but am a little skeptical..
I have used Easy Balance before, but as it says you still have to remove fish waste on a regular bassis !!
You might as well just remove the waste and do a water change at the same time... I think that Easy balance is a waste of time and money ..

I totally agree, Easy Balance is a total waste of money and is more likely to make people lackadaisical when it comes to fish keeping.
Your bogwood won't stain your water for ever, I have got two huge pieces in my 300 gallon tank and the water cleared after a few weeks.

I wish mine would, some of the wood is years old but it still discolours the water slighlty. I have boiled some of it, but some of the bits are just too big..

Have you ever seen the colour of the water when the Brazilian rainforest floods? I think it's quite authentic actually and it didn't bother me. However, most people want crystal clear water.
That does surprise me, if you've seen the wood I've got, you'd be really surprised. However, my water is nice and clear now.

i use a uv on one of my 1200's so i want to try out this purigen in the other 1.
i just want to know how much i should buy and how much to use.

You need to buy a 250ml tub and use 155ml of it. . That will be enough to treat your 620 tank for up to 6 months. You will need one of these
www.seachem.com/Products/product_pages/TheBag.html
I recommend that you actually buy there bag, the stuff is so small it goes through a lot of bags. .
You just put it in the bag and leave it in the filter, it changes colour when its exhausted. .
