can you see if this is a zero, i might be color blind :) test from my oscar tank about an hour ago





ill re test my community tank tomorow and post a picture , its already dark here :)

hi rock, i re tested my water this morning: is nit zero ammo?

rock you said i can use granulated activated carbon, i am dosing my tank with seachem flourish and seachem root tab will it affect anything if use axctivated carbon?

if you use carbon, it will adsorb any organic components in those root tab.

looks like you have 0ppm ammonia in your tank so the bio-filtration is doing its job.

If all the fish look fine and the plants are doing fine all these months with your tap water, then you have nothing to worry about. Prime will protect your fish while the bio-filter does its job.

You could always change your regime of changing water to 3 25% changes over the course of the week instead of a big 75%. It just depends if you have time to do that.

Thanks rock so relieved to hear that! :) i do 80% wc ( twice a week) in my oscar tank and 30% (once a week) in my community tanks, so i guess activated carbon is out of the picture!..

Looking good Richard. Glad to see that the Ammonia is being taken care of by your filters. Bet thats quite a worry of your shoulders.
I would still test on a regular basis as the fish grow , just to make sure that the filtration will continue to be able to handle the Ammonia. Maybe test every 2 weeks or at least once a month.
