Stalker created the topic: water quality for my oscas and Giant gourami tank

Today I've done a water change and decided to do a water test. This is what test results I've ended up with. I am happy with most except a few. Just a reminder that I keep a 48cm giant gourami, 2 oscars and 2 plecos (one pleco is about 42cm and other one about 30cm)

Ph - 6.5
gH - 63'dCH
kH - 2'dKH
NH4/NH3 - 0mg/l
No2 - 0.0mg/l
No3 - 50mg/l
Po4 - 2.0mg/l
Fe - 0,0mg/l
Cu - 0,0mg/l

The No3 I want to get down, what would help except adding plants as everything will be ate up. The GH ia also very high for me. Any help will be appropriated

More frequent and larger water changes. What size is the tank?

Go do a water change - the solution to pollution is dilution.

Nitrate is high you need to aim for levels between 10-20 which is mainly achieved from water changes. What is your wc schedule? I change 2 x 75% weekly which keeps nitrate around 10. Are you using liquid test kit?

Was this test before or after the w/c? Massive bio load with your stock, 3 a week large changes likely in order to keep nitrate at safer levels.

I may not be the Boss, but I'm ALWAYS right!
