I wasn't sure where to post this so I came to water since it will be affected, or not.
Can I wash my decorations with baking soda and salt if I rinse them well? I have a brush that I only use for cleaning them and don't want to contaminate it if I'm not right about it being ok.
If you can't beat them...arrange to have them beaten!

If it doesn't kill you, it only makes you stronger...

i dont want to take the risk...thus, i use my filter pump to pressure wash
all my media and coral decor. all dirt and gunk were blown away and i can
do it in short time. just put some tank water in a big bucket, put the
suction line in there, then run and direct the discharge at the bucket
where i hold the media and /or decor. done in a minute.

You could use diluted virgin vinegar. Just make sure you don't mix it with bleach (lethal poison gas could form). Rinse it well until it is smell free. Consider letting dry overnight and rinse again with water before introducing to the tank.

I avoid using cleaning chemicals. I happen to like the way things look in the tank, even some algae looks fine to me.
