Oscarfish_love created the topic: Salt levels?

I recently purchased a 150 gallon aquarium used. It was previously a saltwater setup. I washed the tank but probably could have been more thorough now I am getting salt deposits on outside of tank from water dripping when I'm in and out of the tank. I have one of those specific gravity meters to test salt. It's lowest level is 1.017 and highest is 1.027. I tested my water and it doesn't even pickup a reading so I know it's lower than 1.017. My fish don't seem uncomfortable at all. Suggestions?

It will all go away with the regular water changes that go with cichlid care. No harm for now. For future reference, pure white vinegar does a great job of cleaning used tanks, even salties.

salt will eventually gone after few water change but some salt scaling will be visible every now and then...
just keep on scrubing and clean it out.
