No they just give you a basic idea of what's going on. They're better than nothing, fairly good for ammonia but the liquid test kits are much better. There is a big price difference and sometimes strips are just all you can do, I know..been there done that. If you have the money go for a liquid kit, they last a lot longer than you'd think and are well worth it.
Welcome to the forum, your name is kinda odd
If you can't beat them...arrange to have them beaten!

I've found them more than accurate enough when compared to the full blown over the top massively expensive test kits.

I figure it's one of those cases of rather test your water with slightly less accurate stuff, than not at all, as is often case when people don't want to spend loads of cash on a full blown test kit.

Also a neat trick is to cut them in half...then you have two

dip strips imho are not worth the money. for the $30 a master test kit costs with a liquid reagent it is a far better value than the test strips.
testing kits are a lot like filters...you get what you pay for. and for the price liquid test kits are definetly the way to go.
Warning..I will offend you at some point!!!

the only thing test strips are good for is throwing as far from your door as you can !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have tested with strips from 3 different manufacturors and compared them to results on the same water from liquid kits ..........and i advise everyone to stay well away from them as the reults differ on a huge scale ......running tanks with readings from strips WILL cause you problems ....serious problems ...stay away from them .....
