Hello everyone. Forgive me if this topic has been discussed but I was wanting to ask about water changes. I often change a bucket of water each day because I get all the waste off the bottom of my tank with a siphon. I like the tank to look clean. Each time I do this it removes about 4 gallons. My question is if I do this every day would there still be a need for a large water change (weekly) all at once or is this enough? I figured it to be about a 35% water change each week by doing it this way. Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

to be honest testing your water regularly is the only way to really tell if it's going to be enough... but thats my opinion

X2

not knowing your water parameters, nobody could ever tell.
but 4 gal fresh water every day helps to lower anything inside
your tank. with regular water test, you can determine if your
tank is due for big w/c.... sometimes it gives you the idea that
you are off for a couple of days with out w/c.

you will be ok with just the 4 gals a day if you are correctly stocked ....(no bio overload ) and you have great fiiltration .....

Yeah thanks for the replies. I test my water about every other day and so far it has been perfect. In my 75 gallon I have a 6 inch Oscar fish with an Emperor 400 and Fluval Fx5. I was just wondering if anyone else did water changes this way. I don't get many days off from work so I figure it will be easier to do it little at time.
