I Recently upgraded my filter (Aqua Clear 20)and my water has turned cloudy!!! I made sure i washed EVRY part of the filter before i put it in my tank. I have tested the pH and everything is normal......I have done a 50% water change this afternoon but its still cloudy. I bought a new Oscar fish today and he doesnt look like hes doing too well. HELP

Have you cycled the tank? From what you have said, it sounds like you haven't actually got an established biological filter at the moment. If this is the case, bacteria is actually building up in your tank water, hence the cloudiness. Please get back to us and let us know the situation

Did you remove your old filter and just put the new one on, if so they your tank is uncycled. See the cycling section on this site for details. Buy yourself a test kit (not strips, the liquid bottles) and do 25% water changes everyday. Dont worry about the cloudiness as it will clear up on its own
