For some reason unknown to me, even with two one room humidifiers at each end of my two bdrm apt., my fish tanks (2-10g., 2-1g.& 1-55g.) go through a lot of evaporated water!! Do I have to add restoration chemicals EVERYTIME I add as much water? I usually don't let any of them get more than one inch from the top. ps. YOU GUYS/GALS ARE GREAT!!

Ok, I know I need to use chemicals when I do an actual water change, but I think I'll do as you do and not use them for just topping-off!! Tanx for your response, "hon"!! (ha,ha) I'd sure like to put my bullhead catfish (6") with my Oscars, but I'm sure things would get ugly!! My 'X' wouldn't let me have a tank in the kitchen or the bathroom, but there were tanks EVERYWHERE otherwise!! (ha,ha) I gotta go, 'House' just started!! Nice chattin' witcha!!

Put some sliding cover glass on your tank, this will reduce evapouration.
