What if anything do others do re holidays or a weekend away etc re feeding?
luckily so far not been away long enough since having the O's

I know come summer we have a couple of family events planned, so far not thought about a holiday, so advice first on a couple of days away?

i have 3 other tanks as well, so auto' feeders may do for those, but as you may have seen i recently also got 2 small oscars as well as the 2 fully grown,

I don't think getting someone in to feed is an option as i live out in the country, so couldn't safely rely on any of our kids coming to feed them,
would just be interested in what others do or as i say advice
THANKS

I've used an automatic feeder. I put freeze dried shrimp in it and it worked fine.
But if its only gonna be a day or so they can go without food for that long.
but i've never been able to starve mine either.

I think you could probably leave your fish for up to a week without any food, even though they can go for food for longer, I don't think I would like to do it myself.

There are several automatic feed is available on the market, never used one myself. Not sure how easy they are to fit to the aquarium though.

I have the juwel, it clamps on the back of the tank and you can set it up over a small opening in your top.

I always get someone to come and feed my fish. If its a problem then every couple of days is ok. If you are away for more than a week (say 2) then every other day is the max unless you have someone to change the water. If have someone to feed your fish measure out the food for each day and then hide the rest otherwise to will come home to high nitrates and your well meaning friend saying "they still looked hungry so i gave them some more". If you havent got someone to feed the fish (what about a neighbour) then its an autofeeder.

When i went travelling for 3 months my friend came round once a week to change water and clean filters and another friend fed the fish and cats everyday
