Hi... 3 days back I upgraded to a 90 Gallon tank with 2 oscars.

I am running the same water filter that I had in my previous tank along with the new filters.

30% of the water in the 90 G tank is frm the previous tank.. to help in cycling

Following are the readings :
Ammonia : 0
Nitrite : 0
Nitrate : 0
PH : 8.2

1>Is my PH too high??? If so then what can be done to lower it down?
2>Any other issues that you might find?
3>Are the other readings showing as "0" because of the high volume of fresh water in the tank? Cause its too good to be true.

I was running the previous tank for about 4 months

your readings r great my ph is at a 8.2 as long as its a steady ph ur good to go oscars love the higher ph anyways. i havent had a problem with my fish at all like i said. and i did the same thing when i upgraded to my 250 gallong tank. just keep an eye on ur ammonia because thats the first thing to go then nitrite then nitrate.

even at a 30 percent change if u had any ammonia in the tank u will still get a reading of some sort. know ur nitrate yea thats a good reading lol i get that every once in a while but not alot since i have well water and here and it has high nitrate in the spring time.

PH of 8.2 would be fine if its stable. test it again before your next water change. if its still 8.2 or even 8 you can consider it being ok. its not the greatest ph to have as it is a little high. but i wouldn't bother trying to lower it. just make sure you don't get any high ammonia readings. if you every do you will need to keep them very low by water changes. it may be worth storing a small bottle of ammonia lock just in case of a rainy day.

your Nitrate reads 0?? this concerns me more than ph. are you using filtered RO water or a nitrate remover?
either that or your tank wasn't cycled before? almost all tanks show some level of nitrate? having 2 oscars in a 90g and you most certainly should have nitrate? retest pls.

did you clean the existing filter before using it in the new tank?
if so, how?

Following are the readings :
Ammonia : 0
Nitrite : 0
Nitrate : 0
PH : 8.2
please check the nitrate? if it is indeed zero, you are
starting to cycle again.... maybe due to filter cleaning?

I was running the previous tank for about 4 months

info on how did you transfer the old filter will help us evaluate.

No i did not clean the filter before transferring. I put the filter in a bucket of aquarium water and transferred it within 30 mins to the new tank.

I am using 25% RO water and 75% tap water.

No chemicals added to the tank to lower down nitrate.

Checked again, Nitrate still show 0.

If I end up recycling the tank again then how do I make it less stressful for the oscars?

When would be the right time to remove the filter of the old tank as I already have 2 running in the new tank (apart from the old one)

If your old filter is running on the old tank, and your fish are in the old tank, then swap everything now.

The bacteria in the old filter will seed your new filters and cycle your new tank.

When do you suggest removing the old filter from the new tank?

Also you should put tap conditioner when you do water changes to remove the chlorine or it could kill off your bacteria.
